T-Mobile Shadow 2009: Help and Support

By now you probably know all there is to know about your device, but if not, we've got you covered with some basic info below.

 

 

 

Device buttons and key features

Get a little refresher about the different buttons on your device as well as some of its key features.

Reset your device

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It doesn't delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

Master reset with settings menu

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Device Management.
  3. Select Clear Storage.
  4. Enter 1234.
  5. Select YES.

 

Memory and SIM cards

SIM card

This device supports a standard size SIM card.

  1. Slide the back battery cover off the device.
  2. Pull up on the black strip to remove the battery.
  3. Insert the SIM card into the slot at the top-right corner of the battery compartment. Slide the SIM card underneath the metal tab with the contacts facing down.

  4. Align the metal contacts on the battery with the metal contacts in the battery compartment, and press the battery into place.
  5. Replace the back battery cover.

 

Memory card

  1. Swing open the memory card cover.
  2. With the gold contacts on the card facing down, insert the memory card into the memory card slot.

  3. Push the memory card until it clicks into place.
  4. Swing the memory card cover closed.

 

Network settings

Manual network selection

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Phone.
  4. Scroll to and select Networks.
  5. Scroll to Network Selection.
  6. Scroll right to Manual.
  7. Select Menu.
  8. Select Find a New Network.
  9. Scroll to and select the desired network.
  10. Select Done, Done, and then Done.

 

Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi

  1. From the Home screen, press the Navigation Wheel up to scroll to Settings.
  2. Select Manage Connections.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll to and select Wi-Fi.
  5. Select Available Networks.If Wi-Fi was turned off, a message appears letting you know that Wi-Fi is now turned on.
  6. Scroll to the desired network.
  7. Select Connect.
  8. If necessary, enter the Network Key.
  9. Select Finish.
  10. Enter a new profile name, if desired.
  11. Select Save.
